First, let me say I have three or four Pelican cases, and they've all been top notch. This case on the other hand, is just ok in my opinion. As some have mentioned, the pick-n-pluck insert is on the stiff side, and even seems like there is a coating on the very top, making the foam even stiffer. This might make ''plucking'' the foam hard for some, which might lead to undesirable results. I had a hot wire foam cutter that I used, and it worked fine. I've never been a fan of the pick-n-pluck foam, as the pieces are cut in small squares, and obviously the gun is not a square, so it aways comes out looking like crap (again highly recommend the hot wire foam cutter for these types of tasks). My problem lies in the fact. the case is not very deep, and thus the gun/mags don't sit very deep into the foam. This lead to (at least in my situation), there being small gaps on the side of the case. These gaps obviously don't make for a water-tight seal, and thus the ''waterproof'' aspect of this case is lost. I don't plan on submerging my pistol in water, but if they are claiming it's supposed to be water-tight, then I would expect it to be. Again, I love Pelican cases, and will buy more in the future, but this particular case is not up to the level of quality that I've been accustomed to from the Pelican brand.
