This upgraded higher lumen (now with multiple beam modes too) 7060 replaces my original 7060 that's now about 10 years old. My old 7060 never failed me, was easy to carry and easy to use-it was time to replace the battery ($40-50), so I decided to splurge for the newest generation flashlight instead. The beam pattern of the new light has better/wider spread than my original 7060, which gives a more useable light in close quarters. The plastic/polymer ''hand grenade texture'' body makes it very secure in your grasp. On a cold night, grabbing an aluminum flashlight in your hand can feel like picking up an ice cube-no such issue with the polymer Pelican. The charger holds the light very securely, should you need to mount it on a wall, in vehicle, etc. The texture of the light body also makes it ''snug'' nicely in a leather belt holster, should you find yourself wrestling on the ground with unpleasant types. I've used many mid-sized flashlights over the years. Because it's a great design, the 7060 has been with me the longest.
